What's Internet Identity

Internet Identity(II) is an anonymous blockchain authentication framework supported by the Internet Computer. Internet Identity guarantees that your data isn't visible, tracked or mined. Internet Identity uses a different Principal (a "pseudonym") for each DApp that you authenticate to using Internet Identity. Since the pseudonyms Internet Identity generates for you are different for each DApp, DApps cannot use them to track you outside their realm.

We have integrated Internet Identity with ME. Users can use their Internet Identity to log in to third-party Dapps. Different Dapps can only get an anonymous Principal ID when you log in with ME. Therefore, DApps can no longer trace users and sell their private data.
